Firefox

Firefox has become an iconic figure when speaking about open source software, due mainly to the fact the each day it gains ground with respect to it's major competitor, Internet Explorer. It's navigation system using tabs, it's extensions and the speed Firefox allows navigation with, convert the program in an essential tool to work with Internet.

  The tab system that Firefox was the first to implement, allows the user to open various websites from the same browser window. If you add that to it's dynamic bookmark system (that allow you to tag specific bookmarks) translated into greater browsing speed and simplicity, even for those who have just started using Internet.

  The other important factor that should make everyone choose Firefox as there default browser is it's add-on manager. These small extras let us integrate nearly anything into Firefox: P2P download managers, personal organizers, translation software, video games, e-mail... Apart from being able totaly change our browser appearance by using new skins and add-on's. Since it's a project that is constantly evolving, Firefox allways keeps it's security protocol updated (protecting our computer against identity theft and malware) and it improves it's performance with each new version.

  Firefox has become one of the Internet users prefered browser as compared to it major competitors (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera or Safari) due mainly to it ease-of-use, it's versatility and speed.
